  1. Turn on the registration code for Kitting in your company configuration.

For more information, refer to "Edit Company - Registration".

  1. Set your Kitting configuration options.

Enable multi-level kits, select your kit invoicing method for kitted items, and other kitting options.

For more information, refer to "Edit Company - Edit - Kit".

  1. Setup a Manufactured category for kit items.

You need to setup a new category for kit items in the Product Category master file, with the Category Type set to Manufactured on the Category File Update screen - Category tab.

For more information, refer to "File - Product Category - Category".

  1. Create multi-level kit master items.

Kit master items are created as normal items in your stock file. They must be assigned to a Manufactured category in the Category field on the Item Update screen - Item tab.

For more information, refer to "File - Inventory - Item".

  1. Add the kit components.

Once an item has been assigned to a Manufactured category, you have the option of adding the sub-assemblies that go into making up the item.
